About Dr Imtiaz-Umer
I was born in Derby and am proud to be from Normanton. Having initially studied in Leicester and lived in Kent, I worked in pharmaceutical and academic research before taking the leap and leaving research to become a medic. I studied Graduate Entry Medicine at the University of Nottingham. I completed all my training in the Midlands and joined Wilson Street as a locum before being honoured with the opportunity to become a Partner.
The practice is a standard bearer to providing excellent patient care and I’m proud to be part of such a forward-thinking, innovative and truly patient caring team. I love being able to serve the community that I grew up in and hope as a team we can make positive changes to our patients’ lives.
I have an interest in paediatrics, women’s health and providing palliative care as well as training medical students and registrars.
I have an interest in workforce inequities and health inequalities for our patients.
I’m married and have two children. In the little spare time I have, I enjoy reading, volunteering for a local charity, swimming, playing netball as well as enjoying hikes in the Peak District.
