Flu Vaccinations 2021

We are building on the success of delivering last year’s Flu Clinics outside to try and keep everyone safe during the Covid pandemic.

This year, we will run our Flu Clinics in much the same way.

We have not yet been advised by the Dept of Health about Covid Boosters so will press on with our Flu plans and make modifications when we have more detail.

By choosing to have your flu Vaccination at the practice you are helping support the practice. Any profit from the flu vaccinations goes straight back into developing patient services at the practice, so thank you for supporting your practice.

This year we will be vaccinating all Over 50’s and those under 50 in an at risk group.

These are drop in clinics:

  • Saturday 11th September 2021 08:30 to 12:00 – Wilson Street Surgery

Patients in Care Homes

The practice will be arranging flu vaccinations for all of their patients in care homes.

Housebound Patients

Patients who are truly housebound can book on a home visiting list. Please telephone us as usual and let us know that you need to be added to this list.

Due to the increased amount of home visits, we ask that access to the property is made easily and patients are ready to be vaccinated to reduce time and risk for both the patient and clinician.

Attending a flu vaccination appointment

The flu clinics will be held outside in gazebos. We hope for clement weather, but please come prepared!

Please think about what you should wear. We need to get to the top of your arm. Please be ready with your arm exposed so we can immunise you as speedily as possible

  • Please do not attend if you are unwell and have any COVID- 19 symptoms.
  • There is no patient car parking available on site.
  • Please queue in an orderly fashion and being respectful of social distancing.

Taddington Road Flu Clinic

Please queue on Taddington Road as if you were approaching from Buxton Road, on the same side of the road as the surgery.

Please leave towards the roundabout or cross Taddington road and walk up the other side.

Wilson Street Flu Clinic

Please queue up the entrance drive. If the queue extends out of the entrance drive, please queue down Wilson Street towards the ring road on the same side of the road as the surgery.

On leaving, please either walk towards the city centre, or cross the road and walk on the other side of Wilson Street.

Staff will be present to help direct you at all times. If you are unsure of where you should be, ask!

Precautions to be taken

All clinical staff will be wearing PPE to protect you and them.

Face coverings will be required to be worn by all patients receiving a flu vaccination

By working together we will try to help as many patients as possible alongside keeping everyone safe during the pandemic.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation
